The Who legend had pre-cancerous growths removed in 2009.
Roger Daltrey has revealed he had an operation to remove a pre-cancerous growth on his vocal cords in 2009.
Talking to CBS Los Angeles, Daltrey said he was made aware of a problem after his voice "wasn't behaving in the normal way". The Who front man continued - "It was becoming hard work to sing. Roger Daltrey added how he struggled with the consequent recovery, claiming "I got depressed after he did the operation, during what I call the Big Silence. That's when I realised what it would be like to not have a voice".
Daltrey - who is a patron of Teenage Cancer Trust and organizes annual concerts for the charity - is now having regular check-ups with Zeitels.
