American Idol’s Ryan Seacrest Gearing Up to Propose to Julianne Hough

They’ve been dating for less than a year, but a new report tells that Ryan Seacrest is preparing to pop the question to Julianne Hough. According to Radar, the “American Idol” host has already selected an engagement ring and is now just planning the proposal.
An insider explained, “Ryan already has the ring- and it’s a rock- four to five carats. Money was no object for Ryan. Expect the Rolls Royce of engagement rings.”
The source added, “He’s had it for awhile and is in the process of planning the engagement. It’s going to happen within the next few months or so!”

Roger Daltrey had cancer scare....

The Who legend had pre-cancerous growths removed in 2009.
Roger Daltrey has revealed he had an operation to remove a pre-cancerous growth on his vocal cords in 2009.
Talking to CBS Los Angeles, Daltrey said he was made aware of a problem after his voice "wasn't behaving in the normal way". The Who front man continued - "It was becoming hard work to sing. I just got lucky that somebody put me in touch with Steven Zeitels [Director of the Mass General Voice Center in Massachusetts]. He told me that he didn't like what he saw. He took off what he could from the problem area on my vocal cord. He said it wasn't cancer but it was a pre-cancerous growth and you have to keep an eye on it".
Roger Daltrey added how he struggled with the consequent recovery, claiming "I got depressed after he did the operation, during what I call the Big Silence. That's when I realised what it would be like to not have a voice".
Daltrey - who is a patron of Teenage Cancer Trust and organizes annual concerts for the charity - is now having regular check-ups with Zeitels.

Cheryl Cole and Katy Perry head up BRIT 2011 nominations

Cheryl Cole and Katy Perry lead the way in the nominations for the BRIT Awards 2011.
The prestigious music awards ceremony takes place annually in the UK, honouring the best of home-grown and international talent.
British singer Cheryl is up for the British female solo artist award and best British single gong for her hit Parachute.
American star Katy will also hope for success for her record Teenage Dream as it’s up for best international album, and she is also in the running for best international female solo artist, where she will go head-to-head with her good friend Rihanna.
Elsewhere, Cee Lo Green will battle it out with Kanye West and Eminem for the international male solo artist prize. American rap star Eminem is also nominated for the best international album for Recovery. Rising British star Tinie Tempah is up for four awards.
The BRIT Awards 2011 will take place at London’s O2 Arena on February 15 and will be hosted by British actor James Corden.

Katy Perry's Teenage Dream sells 10 million digital singles

Katy Perry has reason to celebrate after the singles from her latest album Teenage Dream have collectively sold over 10 million downloads.
The 26-year-old's track California Gurls sold over 4.4 million, while Teenage Dream managed 3 million, and latest single Firework isn't far behind with 2.5 million.
Meanwhile an unreleased tune off the record, titled Peacock, is at just under 200,000.
Katy's current album Teenage Dream has been nominated for two Grammys, including Album of the Year.

Kate Middleton is already highly sought-after to become a figurehead for several charities.
The palace has revealed they have already started getting bids for Middleton to join charities as a patron.
But it seems it will take 'months or even years' for the 29-year-old to build up her set of patronages, according to a palace source.
According to People.com, a palace spokesperson said: "Inevitably we have had approaches, but we are not making decisions before the wedding.
"Catherine wants time, once she is a member of the Royal Family, to come to a decision about what she wants to do. She wants to decide what her own interests are and develop those over time."

Etta James has leukemia.
The legendary 'At Last' singer - who is also suffering from dementia - is reportedly so ill her husband of 41 years Artis Mills has filed a court order to take control of more than $1 million of her money.
In documents filed at a California court he has claimed his wife is unable to manage her finances due to her condition. Dr. Elaine James, who is no relation, added in the court documents that the singer cannot sign her name and she needs help with feeding, dressing and hygiene.
According to the Riverside Press Enterprise he said in court documents his wife expressed that "if she ever became disabled, she did not wish to be placed in an institutional nursing facility as long as they had the money to keep her at home".
However Artis faces objections from son Donto James, who along with his brother Sametto James and wife Christy was given power of attorney by the singer in 2008.
Donto's court filing says he is happy to release the money to cover the costs of his mother's medical treatment, but he would prefer for a third party to be placed in charge "to avoid present and future family conflict and discrepancies".
A hearing at a Riverside County court in California is scheduled for Friday.
